Greenwood man dies in motorcycle crash

GREENWOOD – A 28-year-old Greenwood man lost his life early Sunday morning in a motorcycle crash near Greenwood.

Brandon M. Legrand was killed as a result of a crash that occurred at approximately 12:12 a.m., July 14, 2019, on Oak Road, Delaware State Police spokesman Sgt. Richard Bratz said.

State police investigation by revealed Mr. Legrand was southbound on Oak Road when he lost control of his 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on a moderate curve.

The motorcycle went off the west side of the road south of Beach Highway (SR 16) and overturned. Mr. Legrand was ejected, according to state police spokesman Sgt. Richard Bratz.

Mr. Legrand, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Oak Road in the area of the crash was closed for approximately three hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.

The crash is under investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit.
