Greenwood man in custody after homicide in Bridgeville

BRIDGEVILLE — A 31-year-old Greenwood man was taken into custody Wednesday in connection with a homicide on Jan. 25, Delaware State Police.

According to authorities, Jared C. Mitchell was located at a residence in Horntown, Virginia, and apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Task Force, Accomack County Sherriff’s Office and the Eastern Shore Drug Task Force. A search warrant was executed on the residence and police said drug evidence was recovered.

Mitchell remained in custody in Virginia on drug charges and a fugitive warrant, pending his extradition back to Delaware.

Police said an 18-year-old Greenwood man was shot at the intersection of Newton and Adams roads in Bridgeville and died from his injuries.
