Harrington man accused in Dover armed robbery

DOVER — A 20-year-old Harrington man is being sought after investigation into an alleged armed robbery in an apartment complex Tuesday night, authorities said.

According to Dover police, two women allegedly were approached by an armed suspect at approximately 9:45 p.m. in the 200 block of Webbs Lane in the Pine Grove Apartments area and a purse was stolen.

The suspect fled as police arrived, and a purse and a handgun were found approximately 10 to 15 minutes after the incident at an undisclosed location, police spokesman Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

Police said Jaimere Wayman, the 100 block of Dorman Street, is wanted on charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree conspiracy, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, aggravated menacing and resisting arrest.

A police spokesman said the reason for a conspiracy charge could not be immediately provided due to a detective’s unavailability. It was also not clear if the handgun allegedly involved was loaded or if any contents were taken from the purse.

Police said they could not disclose how Mr. Wayman was identified as a suspect.

If Mr. Wayman is spotted, police said, he should be considered armed and dangerous and not be approached.

Citizens should call 911 immediately, authorities advised.

Authorities asked anyone with information on Mr. Wayman’s whereabouts to contact Dover Police at 736-7111.
