Home invasion injures Dagsboro man

DAGSBORO — The Delaware State Police is investigating a home invasion that occurred Sunday north of Dagsboro.

Delaware State Police spokesman Sgt. Richard Bratz said a preliminary investigation has determined the incident occurred at approximately 2:20 a.m. when troopers responded to the 30000 block of Power Plant Road, Dagsboro for a reported home invasion robbery.

Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim, a 51-year-old male, who advised that someone knocked on his travel trailer door and when he opened the door, five black males armed with firearms and wearing masks forced their way into his residence.

Two of the suspects allegedly held him at gunpoint while other suspects ransacked his trailer before removing his cell phone. Prior to fleeing the trailer one of the suspects allegedly struck the victim’s head with a weapon causing a laceration to his head. Sgt. Bratz said another suspect then tied the victim. The suspects then fled in an unknown direction.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
