On April 30, 2015, Richard L. Howell II, 51, of Wyoming, pleaded not guilty to all 50 felony counts in an indictment returned by a Kent County grand jury just over three weeks earlier.

His resignation was subsequently accepted by the Caesar Rodney School District, officials said at the time.

Mr. Howell, who also coached the CR High wrestling squad, is charged with 43 counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a child in a position of trust, authority or supervision, and seven counts of sexual solicitation of a child.

Delaware Department of Justice said a final case review is scheduled for Jan. 12 in Kent County Superior Court. Previous trial dates in September and November were continued.

According to the Delaware State Police when announcing an arrest on Jan. 14, 2015, preliminary investigation found that an alleged inappropriate relationship began as early as March 2014 and continued until late December 2014.
