Husband dead, wife injured in Lincoln stabbing incident

LINCOLN — A man was found dead and his wife was hospitalized after a domestic-related incident that led to a stabbing Saturday evening.

Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe said the incident occurred on Feb. 16 at approximately 6:04 p.m., when troopers were dispatched to the 200 block of Cedar Drive for an initial report of a domestic involving a stabbing.

Cpl. Jaffe said further investigation revealed that a 36-year-old female had been stabbed numerous times by her 39-year-old husband. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival and was later located in a nearby park deceased.
The victim was initially transported to the Milford Memorial Hospital and later transferred to the Christiana Hospital in stable condition.

The man has been turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science where an autopsy will be performed to determine the manner and cause of death.

Due to the sensitive nature of the case and in consideration for the victim, Cpl. Jaffe said only limited information will be released.
