Milford woman apprehended in Ellendale for alleged car theft

ELLENDALE — Candice N. Christensen, 32, was arrested by Ellendale police on Wednesday for her alleged involvement in a recent car theft as well as being wanted on numerous other charges.

Ellendale police said officers were following up on a recent car theft and were questioning Ms. Christensen, of 799 Torbert Road in Milford, on South Old State Road in Ellendale.

Ms. Christensen gave the officer a false name during the questioning. She was positively identified through a portable fingerprint scanner and found to be wanted on numerous charges, including felony vehicle theft.

She attempted to flee from police on foot but was apprehended.

Ms. Christiansen is charged with vehicle theft felony greater than $1,500, terroristic threatening, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, third-degree assault, theft misdemeanor less than $1,500 and third-degree conspiracy.

She is also facing a pair of Kent County Court of Common Pleas Capias Bench Warrants for her arrest as well as two from the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas and another from the Justice of the Peace Court 4.

Ms. Christensen was charged by the Ellendale Police Department with criminal impersonation and resisting arrest.

She was committed to Georgetown’s Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $8,000 secured bond.
