Earl A. Antonio

MILLSBORO — A 65-year-old Millsboro man was charged with a felony fifth offense DUI Sunday after a single motor vehicle crash, Delaware State Police said.

According to spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe, the incident occurred at approximately 5:10 p.m. when troopers were dispatched to John J. Williams Highway and Rosedale Road for a report of a truck in a ditch.

Upon arrival, police said, troopers made contact with the driver, Earl A. Antonio. An odor of alcohol was detected, police said, and a DUI investigation ensued.

A computer check revealed that Mr. Antonio had four previous DUI convictions, making this his fifth offense, police said.

Other charges included driving while suspended or revoked and other traffic related offenses.

Mr. Antonio was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $6,102 secured bond.
