Milton man arrested on weapons charges

MILTON — Delaware State Police have charged a 25-year-old Milton man with multiple weapons-related offenses, stemming from a domestic incident that occurred late Saturday.

Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Michael Austin said that on Saturday, August 24 at approximately 11:29 p.m., troopers responded to a residence located in the 100 block of Bangor Lane, Milton, for the report of a male threatening a female with a handgun.

Cpl. Austin said troopers learned that Kaleb R. Lemaire had been involved in a verbal altercation with his girlfriend while at the residence, and during the incident pointed a handgun at her and threatened to shoot her. The victim was able to flee the residence uninjured.

Responding troopers secured the area around the residence and were able to locate Mr. Lemaire, in a vehicle adjacent to the residence. He was then taken in to custody without incident. A further search of the property allegedly produced a handgun, which was in the yard of the residence.

Mr. Lemaire was transported to Troop 7 where he was charged with the possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, aggravated menacing, terroristic threatening and possession of a firearm while under the influence.

Mr. Lemaire was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court No. 3 and then committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $68,000 secured bail.
