Michael L. White

Michael L. White, 44, faces charges of Disregarding a Police Officer Signal (felony-subsequent offense), Possession of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest and Driving While Suspended.

According to state police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe, the incident began April 12 at about when troopers conducting proactive patrol in the Pinetown neighborhood observed White driving in a silver Ford Fusion on Pinetown Road.

Troopers were aware that White had a suspended driver’s license and three active capiases for his arrest, Cpl. Jaffe said.

White drove to a residential dead end street on Red Mill Road and a traffic stop was initiated when White failed to comply. White eventually stopped after driving onto a yard and nearly striking a fence, Cpl. Jaffe said.

White exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot but was taken into custody.

Troopers found approximately .68 grams of crack cocaine inside the vehicle.  White was taken to Troop 7 where he was charged.

White was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court on these charges as well as his active capiases. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $26,500 cash only bond.
