Morris Correction Center absconder sought

DOVER — A 30-year-old Dover man was sought after failing to return from an approved job seeking pass Wednesday, Delaware Department of Correction spokeswoman Katherine Weber said.

Antonio Powell’s whereabouts were unknown and unauthorized and a warrant for escape after conviction was issued.

Powell was described as a 6-foot, 160 pound black male with brown eyes and black hair. His original offenses were second-degree conspiracy and first-degree criminal trespass.

Community Corrections Centers are Level 4 facilities where the DOC manages offenders who are transitioning back into the community. These centers are not secured like Level 5 prisons, as offenders are permitted to the leave the facility to go to work, seek jobs, or attend approved treatment sessions.
