No injuries reported in school bus accident

ELLENDALE — No injuries were reported after a Milford School District bus was struck from behind by another vehicle Wednesday afternoon, Ellendale Police Chief Bruce E. Von Goerres said.

Vanessa S. Lee, 64, of Seaford, the driver of a 2011 Hyundai Sonata, was charged with inattentive driving after the 4:09 accident on Main Street (Del. 16) just west of Prettyman Avenue, authorities said.

According to police, the flashing red lights were on and the bus was stopped getting ready to disembark a student when a vehicle failed to stop in time and struck the rear of the bus with the front of the Sonata causing damage to both vehicles.

The Ellendale Volunteer Fire Company responded and assisted with the accident. All students were checked at the scene and no injuries were reported. At the time of the accident there were nine children still on the bus.
