Troopers on Thursday, Aug. 8 investigated a motor vehicle crash in the Rockdove Court area of Bay Forest Club community. Several signs were struck by a single-vehicle driving through the front yards of several residences in the area, it was reported.

With the assistance of the Ocean View Police Department, Longacre was identified as the driver of the vehicle – a 1995 Plymouth Voyager.

According to state police, Longacre Sr. drove the Voyager through grass lots and struck signs and ultimately got stuck in the mud on a grass lot.

Upon contact with the driver, Longacre appeared to be intoxicated and showed multiple signs of impairment, Sgt. Bratz said.

Longacre was transported by EMS to the Beebe Hospital for treatment. A DUI investigation was initiated and a computer inquiry revealed six previous DUI convictions, Sgt. Bratz said.

Longacre was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $50,500 cash bond.
