UPDATE: Pennsylvania woman killed in Millville crash identified

MILLVILLE – Delaware State Police Friday identified the 81-year-old Pennsylvania woman killed May 22 in a two-vehicle crash in Millville.

Sallie Anne Ziff of New Hope, Pennsylvania died from injuries sustained in the crash that occurred about 8:05 p.m. on Roxana Road near Powell Farm Road.

The crash involved a 2018 Toyota Corolla and a 2013 GMC Arcadia, state police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe said.

Investigation revealed the Corolla was northbound on Roxana Road and had stopped in the travel lane signaling to turn into a commercial business entrance. The Corolla proceeded into the path of the Arcadia, which struck the right side of the Corolla.

Ms. Ziff, who was among several passengers in the Corolla, was transported to Beebe Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, Cpl. Jaffe said.

A second rear-seat passenger, a 78-year-old woman from Philadelphia, was seriously injured. She was taken to Beebe Medical Center and later transferred to Christiana Hospital, according to Cpl. Jaffe.

The driver of the Corolla, a 57-year-old man from New Hope, and a 59-year-old woman from Frankford, Delaware were not injured.

The operator of the Acadia, a 28-year-old Selbyville woman, a front-seat passenger and two children in rear-seats were not injured in the collision.

Roxana Road was closed for approximately 1 1/2 hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
