TOWNSEND — Two Townsend men were arrested in alleged connection with a robbery Wednesday at a Walgreens, according to authorities.

Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe said troopers were dispatched to the business at 5999 Summit Bridge Road at approximately 11:32 a.m. It was found that two suspects had entered the Walgreens and made contact with a 76-year-old female cashier. The suspects proceeded to ask the cashier for cigarettes and cigars. As the cashier obtained these items, she proceeded to ask for identification, when one of the suspects snatched the items out of her hand.

Both suspects fled the store prior to the arrival of police. The victim sustained minor injuries and declined medical treatment.

A witness provided a vehicle and suspect description. The vehicle, a dark colored Honda Civic, matching the description was seen traveling westbound on Main Street, Townsend. A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver, Nasir Harris, 20, and 18-year-old Shamar X. Walker, 18.
