Shooting follows large parking lot fight

DOVER — A 21-year-old man suffered non-life threatening injuries after an early Saturday morning shooting in the Allure Nightclub parking lot, Dover Police spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

Officers were called to 865 N. DuPont Highway at approximately 1:37 a.m. for a reported large fight and person armed with a handgun, authorities said. Officers arrested a gun-wielding person and another fight began in another section of the parking lot, police said. During that fight, multiple shots were fired, and an onlooker was struck in the hip area.

The victim was transported to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital in Dover where he was treated and in stable condition. The suspect was described as a black male with dreadlocks hair, 5-foot-10 to 5-11 with a skinny build and a red shirt.

Police asked anyone with information to call 736-7111. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at; a cash reward of up to $1,000 is possible for information leading to an arrest.
