Siblings arrested on drug charges in Seaford

SEAFORD — Delaware State Police arrested a brother and sister after a search led to the discovery of drugs and weapons.
Police said the arrests were made Friday after an administrative search conducted by probation officers at the residence of Daniel A. Allen, 22, who is currently serving a home confinement sentence for a drug dealing conviction.
Upon entering Mr.Allen’s residence in the 700 block of Atlanta Road on Friday, police said, officers located 19.46 grams of cocaine, 1,429.54 grams of marijuana, 290 THC vape cartridges, a 12-gauge bolt action shotgun, two knives with blades over 3 inches, metal knuckles, numerous rounds of 12-gauge shotgun ammunition and more than $1,000 in suspected drug proceeds.
Present during the search were Daniel Allen and his sister, Alexia K. Allen, 27, as well as two children, authorities said. Police took the siblings into custody without incident.
Mr. Allen was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession with intent to deliver a substance in a tier 2 quantity, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited.
Also, two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of cocaine in a tier 3 quantity two counts of possession of a controlled substance in a tier 1 quantity, two counts of possession of a deadly weapon, third-degree conspiracy, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $57,500 cash bond.
Ms. Allen was charged with maintaining a drug property, third-degree conspiracy and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. She was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and released on her own recognizance.
3 women assault and rob woman at Dover motel
DOVER — Police said three women forced their way into a 29-year-old woman’s room in the Relax Inn at 6:55 p.m. Friday and assaulted the victim while demanding money.
The suspects fled the scene at 640 S. DuPont Highway with a small amount of cash and a cell phone, police said.
The victim suffered minor injuries.

Bicyclist hit by car succumbs to injuries
FRANKFORD – A 62-year-old Frankford man riding a bicycle on DuPont Boulevard Friday night died from injuries after a vehicle struck the bike.
The collision occurred at about 8:55, Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe said. Police said the cyclist was northbound on US 113 just south of Hickory Street when he was struck from behind by a 2011 Ford Escape operated by a 24-year-old Seaford man.
Cpl. Jaffe said investigation revealed the bicycle was not equipped with lights and the bicyclist was wearing dark clothing.
The bicyclist was transported to Beebe Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead, Cpl. Jaffe said. His name is being withheld pending the notification of family.
The driver of the Escape was properly restrained and was not injured.
