Six sought after street robbery

DOVER — Six suspects were sought following a stong-arm robbery in the area South Queen and West Reed streets, Dover Police spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

A 31-year-old man approached by a female while walking at approximately 1:45 p,m. and was asked for a small sum of money. Authorities described the suspect as a black female with red pants and a white shirt with black stripes.

Police said when the man pulled out his wallet, five black male suspects began to assault the victim and steal his wallet. The suspects then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities said.

The victim refused medical treatment following the incident.

Police asked anyone with information to call 736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at; a cash reward of up to $1,000 is possible for information leading to an arrest.
