Suspect sought in Frederica armed robbery try

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in an attempted armed robbery at JC Liquor Mart in Frederica on Dec. 5 at 7:29 p.m.

A 71-year-old employee told police that a suspect entered the store at 7615 Old Beach Road wearing a ski mask and displayed a handgun. The suspect then proceeded to strike the victim with the handgun and a tussle began, police said.

The suspect subsequently fled the area on foot without obtaining any money or merchandise. The victim sustained minor injury and declined medical treatment.

The suspect was described as black male, approximately 6-foot-2 tall and weighing at least 200 pounds. He was wearing a ski mask, gloves, a dark green puffy winter jacket with fur lining on the hood and jean pants.
