Two Frankford residents charged in thefts from vehicles

SUSSEX COUNTY — Two Frankford residents were arrested following recent thefts from motor vehicles, authorities said Thursday.

In mid-July, troopers handled multiple incident reports in developments within the Bethany Beach, Ocean View, Selbyville, and Frankford areas, Delaware State Police spokeswoman Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe said. Police determined that credit and debit cards were stolen and used at Sussex County businesses.

Police said Jeffrey P. Imle, 27, and Alexandra M. Anderson, 24, were identified as persons of interest.

At approximately 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, police arrived at Ms. Anderson’s residence in the 34000 block of Virginia Drive to conduct a warrant. Ms. Anderson and Mr. Imle were inside initially refused to exit, police said.

Police said Mr. Imle barred Ms. Anderson’s mother from leaving the home. Eventually Mr. Imle and Ms. Anderson were taken into custody without further incident.

Mr. Imle was found with a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, police said, Detectives located stolen items during a search warrant execution, authorities said.

Multiple counts of identity theft, felony theft, theft, unlawful use of a credit card, third-degree criminal trespass, second- and third-degree conspiracy, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia resulted.

Mr. Imle was held at Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown on $49,013 secured bail. Ms. Anderson was remanded to the custody of Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution in New Castle on $50,513 secured bail,
