Victim ID’d in Dover apartment homicide

DOVER — On Thursday, authorities identified 44-year-old Lamare Kiser as the victim in a shooting death in his apartment the day before.

The Delaware State Police reported that a Delaware Division of Forensic Science autopsy found the death to be a homicide caused by gunshots to the upper torso.

Authorities said two other people were inside the Alder Park Apartments “B” building residence when the shooting occurred at approximately 2:35 a.m. Wednesday. No other injuries were reported.

According to police, there was no sign of the incident being a home invasion or forced entry, and no property was taken from the apartment at 51 Webbs Lane.

Police were called to the scene after 911 calls were made reporting that a person had been shot. State and Dover Police went to the scene, along with Kent County paramedics and Mr. Kiser was pronounced dead at the scene.

No suspect or suspects were immediately identified.

Investigation is ongoing and police asked anyone with information to call Detective M. Ryde at 698-8557. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, online at, or by sending an anonymous tip by text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword “DSP.”
