Georgetown Elementary Robotics Club hosting ‘Superbot Saturday’ March 2

GEORGETOWN – The Georgetown Elementary School Robotics Club will host the Delmarva Regional Vex IQ Championships, known as Superbot Saturday on Saturday, March 2.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This will be the third annual Superbot Saturday at Georgetown Elementary.

In the Vex IQ Challenge, teams of students are tasked with designing and building a robot to collaborate with other teams in a game-based engineering challenge.

This year’s challenge is called Next Level. Teams will work collaboratively to score as many points as they can in a 60-second teamwork match. Team members will learn teamwork, leadership and communication skills.

A total of 37 teams will be participating in the competition. Twenty-nine teams – seven middle school and 22 elementary – will be representing the Indian River School District. The remaining teams are from Delaware and Maryland.

Georgetown Elementary School is located at 301-A West Market Street in Georgetown.
