IRSD parents invited to cyberbullying presentation

MILLSBORO — Parents of secondary school students in the Indian River School District are invited to a special Title I parent engagement event on internet safety Tuesday, Nov. 27 at Millsboro Middle School.
Representatives from the Beau Biden Foundation will be presenting on internet safety and cyberbullying.

The presentation is designed for parents and other concerned adults to address issues of good digital citizenship, online safety and the dangers of cyberbullying. It was created to help adults understand what children do online and address ways to foster healthy conversations about digital safety.

Parents of all secondary school students in the IRSD are invited to attend. This presentation is intended only for adults, so parents are requested to not bring their children.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. at which time refreshments will be served. The presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The first 50 parents in attendance will also receive a copy of the book “Bullying Beyond the Schoolyard: Preventing and Responding to Cyberbullying.”
