Pathways’ ‘Pay It Forward Celebration’ honors supporters, students

MILLSBORO – Pathways to Success will honor some of its supporters and students at the organization’s 2nd Annual “Pay It Forward Celebration” on July 27 at The Clubhouse at Baywood.

The event will run from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Honorees include:

•             Cornelius Blake, active Pathways to Success volunteer who is always available to help with fundraisers and other tasks;

•             Jeffrey Benson, Seaford School District board member who personally mentors the youth in our program;

•             Gary Conaway, Media Broadcasting Instructor at Sussex Technical High School who has covered (with students in his class) Pathways to Success Young Ladies and Young Men Summits and other events;

•             Sue Claire Harper, who has donated to Pathways to Success through a thrift shop she volunteers with and her personal funds; and

•             Michael Meoli, CEO of The Meoli Companies, who has hired and mentored the youth in the Pathways to Success program for many years.

The following Pathways to Success students will also be honored: Valori Addison, Abigail Honaker, Niyasha Mosley, and Shamaya Young.

As part of this celebration, Shades of Blue will perform jazz, blues and Motown music.  There will also be fabulous auction items including baked goods.

“We welcome this opportunity to thank these local residents and students for their support,” said Fay Blake, Pathways to Success executive director. “Without them we would not be able to accomplish and serve as many students and their families that we do.  We thank everyone in our community for their support. It truly does take a village and we appreciate all the support we have received.”

Sponsorship opportunities are available and include many benefits with tickets to the event depending on the level of sponsorship.

The deadline for submitting sponsorship payment is July 8.
