Anderson scores 32 as Wesley men defeat Centenary 89-84

Evan Anderson poured in 32 points as Wesley College held off Centenary for an 89-84 victory in men’s basketball on Wednesday night.

The Wolverines (3-4) opened up a 19-point halftime advantage before posting the victory.

Brian Cameron added 22 points for Wesley, which had four players score in double figures. Anderson and Cameron played all 40 minutes.

After the Wolverines led 46-27 at intermission, the Cyclones closed within 87-84 with 10 seconds remaining. But Anderson sank a pair of free throws with nine seconds on the clock to seal the win.

Anderson shot 8-of-17 from the floor, including 5-of-10 from three-point range and 11-of-11 shooting from the foul line. He netted 17 of his 32 points in the second half.

Derrick Charles had 11 points and eight rebounds with Moe Goin collecting 10 points and nine rebounds.
