Athlete of the Week: Superia Clark, Dover

Dover High field hockey’s Superia Clark was voted by readers as the Week 3 Delaware State News Athlete of the Week for her performance on the field.

The Senators’ sophomore scored one goal in a 5-1 win over Milford High and added two more in a 3-0 win over Queen Anne’s (Md.).

She also had a hat trick against Ursuline Academy and has netted seven goals in six games so far this season for the Senators (4-2).

Caesar Rodney High’s Manny Kennedy (football), Greenwood Mennonite School’s Agi Pacheco (boys’ soccer) and Dover High’s Vonnie Peace (football) also received votes.

Athlete of the Week nominations

The Delaware State News is featuring a high school Athlete of the Week each week during the 2019-2020 school year.

The Athlete of the Week is nominated and chosen by our readers. The nominating period starts at 2 p.m. on Friday and ends at noon on Monday. A voting period follows from 5 p.m. Monday through 5 p.m. Wednesday.

All nominations must be high school varsity athletes and come from high schools within Kent or Sussex counties. The winner appears in print and online each Friday.
