Boys’ lacrosse game postponed until Thursday

DOVER -Tonight’s DIAA boys’ lacrosse state championship game between Cape Henlopen High and Salesianum has been postponed because of the severe weather predicted for this evening.

The contest was slated to be played at 8 p.m. at Caesar Rodney. The DIAA announced the postponement just before 4:30 p.m.

The game is now slated to be played on Thursday at 6 p.m. at CR. Tickets for the game are $7 and will be available on site by 5:15 p.m.

The boys’ lacrosse tournament has now had several delays because of thunderstorms and school graduations. Originally, the state finals were slated to be played last Friday or Saturday.

Cape Henlopen hasn’t played since last Wednesday when it beat Archmere in the state semifinals. Sallies beat CR on Sunday in a semifinal contest that was postponed twice.
