C-W heads to Major League softball tourney final

Sydney Hatch homered and drove in four runs to lead Camden-Wyoming to a 12-2 opening round win against Smyrna-Clayton in the District I Major League softball tournament on Saturday afternoon.

Peyton Shields was the winning pitcher and also recorded two hits. Chloe Dunigan scored twice and had a pair of hits while Jumaria Sample also had two hits.

M.O.T. 20, Felton-Harrington 1: M.O.T. scored nine runs with two outs in the second inning to pull away for the first round victory.

Natalie Gephart went 2-for-3 with a home run. Kelsey Pollinger and Allie Lorenzoni also were 2-for-3.

M.O.T. and Camden-Wyoming will play in the winner’s bracket final tonight at 6 p.m. Felton-Harrington and Smyrna-Clayton have an elimination game at 3 p.m.


Senior League

Smyrna-Clayton 10, Camden-Wyoming 8: Matt Knight racked up four RBI on two hits to keep Smyrna-Clayton alive in the District I tournament.

Zach Lewis and Braydon Messick each drove in two runs. Zane Kerr had two hits and a RBI while Logan Kosky also knocked in a run.

Dover 10, Felton-Harrington 5: Dover scored five runs in the top of the eighth for an extra-inning victory.

Dover improved to 3-0 in the tournament and advanced to the championship game Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Pat Knight

Camden-Wyoming 10, M.O.T. Red 4: Merric Hunt went 2-for-3 with a triple as Camden-Wyoming won the District I Pat Knight tournament in a game contested on Friday night.

Isaiah Stokes and Isaac Thomas each had two-hit games while Patrick Easton doubled. Joshua Fredricks and Stokes combined for the win on the mound.

American Legion

Harrington drops a pair: Post-7 Harrington fell to the Post-10 Generals 4-3 and 14-3 in a doubleheader on Saturday.
