Joe Callahan

DOVER — Current Philadelphia Eagles quarterback and Wesley College alumnus Joe Callahan ‘15, along with head coach and offensive coordinator Chip Knapp will be hosting a one-day quarterback camp on Sunday, June 24 from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. at Drass Field at Scott D. Miller Stadium.

The 2015 Gagliardi Trophy winner and College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American, Callahan threw for 12,878 yards and 130 touchdowns in his Wesley career. In 2015, Callahan became the first NCAA Division III quarterback to ever throw for over 5,000 passing yards in a single season and only the second quarterback in NCAA history to throw for 5,000 or more yards and 55 touchdowns during the 2015 season.

Callahan spent two seasons with the Green Bay Packers as a backup quarterback to Aaron Rodgers and Brett Hundley. He became the first Wesley football player to see time in a regular season NFL game when he entered in the Week 17 game last season against the Detroit Lions. He completed 5-of-7 passes for 11 yards in the Packers’ season finale.

This offseason, Callahan signed a two-year contract with the world champion Eagles.

The Eagles are no stranger to Callahan as he went 10-for-16 passing for 103 yards and carried the ball once for 11 yards in the Packers and Eagles 2017 preseason opener. In two preseasons with the Packers, Callahan notched a 61.5 completion percentage while throwing for 611 yards and three touchdowns against no interceptions.

Since taking over the offensive reins in 1991, Knapp has had a proven track record in developing quarterbacks. He led Callahan, Justin Sottilare and Chris Warrick to Regional Players of the Year and Eastern College Athletic Conference Player of the Year accolades as well as Callahan, Sottilare, Warrick, Shane McSweeny and Jason Visconti to conference Player of the Year laurels.

The camp is $80 per camper and check-in begins at 8:15 a.m. at Drass Field. Campers will be required to wear athletic apparel, tennis shoes or football cleats and bring your own football. For more information and to register online, click HERE or visit
