COLLEGE ROUNDUP: UD field hockey blanks American

Delaware got an early goal and turned it to a 1-0 victory over American in nonconference field hockey on Sunday afternoon.

Freshman Laurien Vink connected off a pass from sophomore Lotte de Koning on a penalty corner in the eighth minute as the Blue Hens evened their record at 3-3.

Freshman goalie Lizzie Gaebel made her first career start in goal and registered one save for the win.

Fairfield 6, Delaware State 2: The Stags scored a season-high six goals as they overpowered the Hornets.
The Stags out-shot Delaware State 25-10, with Delaware State picking up goals in the 25th and 89th minutes.
