Five Henlopen teams make boys’ soccer tournaments

The Henlopen Conference put five squads in the DIAA boys’ soccer Division I and II tournament brackets that were determined on Friday.

Salesianum is the top seed in the eight-team Division I tourney with St. Andrews taking the No. 1 seed in the 12-team Division II bracket.

In Division I, an opening-round doubleheader will be played at Dover on Nov. 11. Seventh-seeded Sussex Central (10-5) plays No. 2 Appoquinimink (11-2-2) at 5 p.m. with No. 5 Cape Henlopen (12-3) taking on No. 4 St. Georges (11-3-1) at 7 p.m.

Also on Nov. 11, third-seeded Caesar Rodney (13-2) takes on No. 6 Newark (9-5-1) at Caravel at 5 p.m.

In Division II, second-seeded Laurel and No. 3 Indian River both earned first-round byes and will play their first games in the second round on Nov. 11. Both Henlopen South squads will play in a doubleheader at Dover.

Laurel (12-2) will play at 5 p.m. against the winner of the matchup between Archmere and Delaware Military. IR (12-3) will play at 7 p.m. against the winner of the McKean-Conrad contest.
