Former Wesley quarterback Callahan joins Eagles

Joe Callahan

DOVER — It didn’t take Joe Callahan to find another opportunity.

Two days after being released by the Green Bay Packers, the former Wesley College quarterback was picked up by the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday.

Callahan is starting his third year in the NFL. He’s spent most of the previous two seasons with the Packers but has also spent time with the Saints and Browns.

The former Gagliardi Trophy winner saw action in one regular-season game with the Packers last fall.

Callahan, a Soouth Jersey native, played against the Eagles in the preseason last August, completing 10-of-16 passes for 103 yards.

The Eagles already have three QBs in Carson Wentz, Nick Foles and Nate Sudfeld.
