Fox Post-2 falls to Post-1 in American Legion state tournament

Fox Post-2 is still alive in the American Legion state baseball tournament, but its road to the title became more difficult on Wednesday.

Fox Post-2 suffered its first loss of the double-elimination tournament. The Dover-area squad fell 10-4 in the winners’ bracket final to top seed Delaware Post-1.

There are four teams remaining in the tournament after Wednesday. Fox Post-2, the second seed, plays the Newark-area Post-10 Generals today at 9 a.m. at Wilmington University’s Wilson Field in an elimination game.

Delaware Post-1 is the only unbeaten team left in the tournament. The Hockessin-based squad will play Stahl Post-30 today at 1 p.m.

If Delaware Post-1 wins it would only need to win once more for the title while the winner of the Fox Post-2 vs. Post-10 Generals matchup will need to beat Delaware Post-1 twice on Friday for the championship.
