Hornets, Hens to square off in Wilm.

DOVER – This season’s Delaware State-Delaware men’s basketball game will be played in Wilmington the two schools announced today.

The Dec. 16th contest will be held at the 76ers Fieldhouse, the multi-purpose facility near the Wilmington Waterfront. Tioff is set for 7 pm.

This year’s contest was slated to be a DSU home game after the state’s two Division I programs played in Newark last winter. The Hornets won last year’s contest, 73-71.

It will be the 20th meeting between the Blue Hens and Hornets with Delaware holding a 14-5 advantage.

Previous games were played at UD’s Delaware Fieldhouse and Carpenter Center and DSU’s Alumni Hall. The 76ers Fieldhouse, which opened last January, has a capacity of 2,500. It is the home of the NBA G League’s Delaware Blue Coats.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public sale on Nov. 1. Ticket prices for the game are $30 for floor seats and $18 for bleacher seats.
