Local roundup: Camden-Wyoming defeats New York 13-3 in 8-10 baseball Eastern Regional

Camden-Wyoming earned its first victory of the 8-9-10-year-old baseball Eastern Regional with a 13-3 win over New York on Monday in Rhode Island.

Gabe Harris led the offense with four hits. a stolen base and one RBI. Ronald Berry IV and Anthony Christenson each drove in two runs while Kam McCray had two hits, one RBI and scored three runs.

Kurt Helsdon doubled and drove in a run while Carter Dulin and Evan Fowley each recorded a RBI-single. Fowler also pitched three innings and struck out three while Will Lorentz pitched a pair of innings and struck out two.

Camden-Wyoming improved to 1-1 in pool play. It continues its tournament with a 2 p.m. contest on Wednesday.

Junior League

Cape/Georgetown 11, New York 1: Cape/Georgetown won its third consecutive elimination game to stay alive in the East Regional.
Mike Jarrell had two hits and drove in two runs. Paris Mitchell tallied three RBI while Nick Cox had a hit and RBI.

Cape/Georgetown will have another elimination game today at 4 p.m. against Connecticut. The winner will play New Jersey immediately after in the loser bracket final.
