Local roundup: Camden-Wyoming wins 18-1 in Pat Knight tournament

Camden-Wyoming downed Dover, 18-1, on Sunday night to improve to 2-0 in District I’s Pat Knight baseball tournament.

The victory put C-W in the winners’ bracket finals of the seven-team, double-elimination tourney being played at Milford.

Camden-Wyoming, which has won its first two games by a combined 34-2, plays again on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.

Evan Ethan (1 run) had a two-run single while Darius Jacks (2 runs) and Brady Anderson also had RBI singles for C-W. Winning pitcher Brett Lancaster struck out three in three innings.

Dover (1-1) plays again today at 8:30 p.m. at Milford,

Camden-Wyoming 16, Milford 1: Camden-Wyoming opened up with a victory in a game played on Saturday.

Pitcher Ronald Berry struck out four in three innings while adding a two-RBI single and scoring a run. Evan Wattum added a two-run double and scored a run while Billy Wine (1 run) and Gavin Boos both had RBI singles.

Malin Winkleblech had a hit and scored Milford’s lone run.

MOT-Blue 7, MOT-Red 5: In another first-round game, MOT-Blue overcame an early 4-2 deficit to rally for the win.

Jude Collins had two hits, including a fourth-inning double, while Tim Whichard had a two-run homerun. Landyn Washington hit a double with Jason Timpson and Connor Robovitsky both contributing hits.

Winning pitcher Cameron Crowe struck out seven in 4.1 innings before relievers E.J. Egloff and Matthew Bublitz struck out four with no hits or walks to close out the victory.
