Local roundup: Deputy leads CR girls to 50-36 Henlopen North win over Smyrna

Stacey Deputy’s 14 points led Caesar Rodney High to a 50-36 victory over Smyrna High in a Henlopen Conference Northern Division girls basketball matchup on Thursday night.

Lillian Ayers added 13 points for the Riders. Laynee Ford chipped in 10.

Caesar Rodney trailed at halftime but took control with a 23-5 third quarter.

Lake Forest 75, Milford 36: Grace Aguilar scored a game-high 25 points in Lake Forest’s Henlopen South victory.

Gabrielle Almonte netted 20 points for the Spartans.

Indian River 28, Sussex Academy 14: Micayla Meehan’s nine points paced the Indians to the Henlopen South win.

ECHS@DSU 44, Providence Christian Academy, Md. 24: The ECHS@DSU girls earned the win over an out of state opponent.

Boys’ basketball

Indian River 78, Sussex Academy 68: Jamier Felton scored 22 points and Michael Meehan followed with 21 points to lead the Indians.

Woodbridge 77, Laurel 58: The Blue Raiders won the Henlopen South contest on Thursday.

St. Andrew’s 60, St. Thomas More 33: Omari Burris had 15 points as the Ravens fell on Thursday.
