LOCAL ROUNDUP: UD women’s basketball team wins; Woodson in all-star game; Hall seeking nominations

An Abby Gonzales three-pointer with just 13 seconds left put Delaware ahead to stay as the Blue Hens went on to post a 51-49 victory over Towson in CAA women’s basketball on Sunday afternoon.

Gonzales’ three gave Delaware a 49-47 lead. Nicole Enabosi then sank two free throws with three seconds remaining before the Tigers scored just before the final buzzer.

The win was a season-best fourth straight for the Hens (4-1 CAA, 11-5 overall). Gonzales and Enabosi each finished with 14 points while Enabosi grabbed 10 rebounds for her 12th double-double of the year to go along with five blocked shots.

Gonzales added a game-high five assists for the Hens, who have won seven of their last eight games.

Delaware has won 10 straight over the Tigers at the Carpenter Center and are 54-21 all-time against Towson.
