Roundup: 12-run first inning carries Fox Post-2 to 18-4 Legion victory

Fox Post-2 scored 12 runs in the first inning on its way to a 18-4 victory over Canal Post-25 Middletown in an American Legion baseball contest played on Wednesday.

Brent Buckson went 4-for-5 to lead the Dover-area squad while Garrett Lawson scored four runs and doubled twice. John Campiglia and Sean Quirk each had two RBI and two runs scored.

Tommy Pomatto doubled twice, drove in a pair and had three runs.

Miguel Rivera had two hits and a RBI.

Major League

Dover 13, Felton-Harrington 3: Connor Ridgeway belted a three-run homer while Hunter Chambers added a two-run home run, a triple and a double in Dover’s District I tournament victory on Thursday.

8-10 tournament

Felton-Harrington 13, Milford 3: T.J. Hooks had two hits and two runs while William Noel had four RBI in a game contested on Thursday night.

Landon Jefferson added a pair of hits and a pair of runs for Felton-Harrington.

Junior League

Felton-Harrington 12, Dover 2: Wade Brooks and Ocean Johsnon combine for three-hitter as Felton-Harrington won in a District I tournament game on Wednesday.

J.J. Marshall had two doubles and two RBI while Byron Freeland and Gabe Barton each scored three runs.

June Brittingham doubled and had a run scored for Dover.

Local bowling

Qualifier in Middletown today: Mid County Lanes, Middletown, hosts amateur bowlers from the region today, battling for three spots in next month’s PBA Gene Carter’s Pro Shop Classic.

The Amateur Qualifier, a six-game test, begins at 1 p.m., entries closes at noon. The top three finishers earn entry in the Carter Classic, Aug. 19-20, at Mid County.
