Roundup: Milford shuts out Laurel 25-0 in Henlopen South football

Milford High blanked Laurel, 25-0, in a Henlopen Conference Southern Division football game on Friday night.

The victory was the second in a row for the Buccaneers (2-0 South, 3-2 overall) and their second straight by shutout.

Milford has posted three shutouts in its five games this season.

Woodbridge 56, Seaford 0: The Raiders rolled to the Henlopen South win on Friday night.

Woodbridge (2-0 South, 5-0 overall) extended its winning streak to 18 games in a row over the last two seasons.

St. Andrews 21, First State Military 18: The Cardinals built a 21-12 lead before holding off the Bulldogs.

First State Military, which is playing its first varsity season, dropped to 0-3.

College volleyball

UNC-Wilmington 3, Delaware 2: The Blue Hens fought off four match points and earned one of its own, but could not seal the victory.

The Seahawks (7-10, 1-4 CAA) snapped a four-match losing skid by taking the match by set scores of 25-12, 24-26, 25-16, 18-25, 18-16. The Blue Hens (3-12, 1-4 CAA) dropped their fourth contest in a row.

Maria Bellinger again led the UD offensive attack by tying her career-high with 28 kills, while she added 12 digs to post her fourth double-double of the year. Daria Robinson tied her season-best with 12 kills on the night, while Raven Luckett contributed seven without an attack error.

Courtnie Roberts handed out 28 assists, Abby Skryd recorded a double-double with 24 assists and 14 digs, and Maddie Judge led all players 28 digs.
