Roundup: Rowan too much for Wesley in field hockey

Rowan tallied a pair of goals in each half in downing Wesley College, 4-0, in field hockey on Wednesday evening.

The nonconference contest was played at the DE Turf Complex in Magnolia.

Goalie Sidney Knott made five saves while Lauren Berry added three for the Wolverines (2-8).

Rowan finished with advantages of 28-6 in shots and 14-2 in corners. Rebecca Dvorak had two of Wesley’s shots.

College soccer

MEN, Delaware 3, Drexel 2: Halvard Ramstad’s goal in the 54th minute snapped a 2-2 tie and lifted the Blue Hens (2-1 CAA, 5-2-1 overall) to the Colonial Athletic Association win.

Delaware scored the game-winner on a free kick from about 10 yards out. The ball was served in by Fede Prieto, who found a streaking Ramstad and he headed in his second consecutive game-winning goal.

The Hens led 2-0 lead on a pair of goals just 62 seconds apart and outshot the Dragons, 17-7.

Wesley 1, Delaware Valley 0: Jaki Farlow’s goal in the 69th minute gave the Wolverines (2-8) the victory.

Wesley outshot the Aggies, 19-3, as Kyle Springsteen made one save to earn the shutout.

WOMEN, Hood 4, Wesley 1: A goal from Janiah Moore (Caesar Rodney) tied the game at 1-1 in the first half before Hood pulled away.

Amanda Deputy made four saves in net for the Wolverines (3-4-1).

Boys’ soccer

Delmarva Christian 3, Gunston Day 2: Ben Little netted a pair of second-half goals to lift the Royals (3-3) to their third straight win.

Logan Tyler scored in the first half while Liam Catron made six saves.

Polytech 2, Milford 0: Josh Wingfield and Lucas Besong scored two minutes apart in the first half as the Panthers picked up the win on Tuesday night.

Archmere 6, First State Military 0: Chris Shea made 11 saves for FSMA in the loss.

Laurel 4, Dover 2: The Bulldogs tallied three second-half goals to break a 1-1 halftime tie in the game on Tuesday.

Volleyball

Dover 3, Seaford 0: The Senators improved to 3-2 with the 25-5, 25-6, 25-11 win on Tuesday.

Middletown 3, First State Military 1: The Cavaliers posted the victory by scores of 25-11, 25-9, 16-25, 25-11.

Field hockey

Gunston Day 6, Delmarva Christian 1: Hannah Slacum tied the game at 1-1 for the Royals before Gunston tallied the final five goals.

Mara Agapito made 24 saves for Delmarva Christian.
