Roundup: Wesley’s Cameron and Anderson put up big numbers but fall to Cabrini

Two Wesley College players broke the 20-point mark but the Wolverines fell to Cabrini 96-86 in a Atlantic East Conference men’s basketball contest on Saturday afternoon.

Brian Cameron paced Wesley with 26 points while Evan Anderson followed with 24 points. Derick Charles also finished in double figures as he scored 11 points.

Terrence Braxton netted seven points for Wesley and grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds.

The Wolverines mounted a rally in the second half, out-scoring Cabrini 55-49, but could not overcome a 16-point halftime deficit.

Wesley dropped to 1-2 in conference and 7-9 overall.

WOMEN, Cabrini 84, Wesley 50: Stacey O’Neale notched a team-best 14 points in the Wesley defeat.

She knocked down four 3-pointers and added four assists. Paige Hailstock, Jameshia Baker and Angelique Gathers each scored eight points apiece. Gathers pulled down seven rebounds.

Chardae Booker-Hayes grabbed a career-high nine rebounds off the bench. Katelyn Watson notched seven points and five rebounds. SherVohnia Tolson chipped in with six defensive rebounds.
