Seven Henlopen Conference teams have made the fields for the DIAA field hockey Division I and II state tournaments that were determined on Friday.
This is the first year that the tournament has been split between the state’s biggest and smallest schools.
Defending state champion Delmar is the No. 1 seed in Division II with Padua earning the top spot in Division I.
The 12-team Division II tourney begins on Tuesday with the top four seeds receiving first-round byes.
The only opening-round matchup involving downstate teams has fifth-seeded Lake Forest (11-3-1) hosting No. 12 Indian River (7-5-3) at 3 p.m. The two squads played to a scoreless tie during the regular season.
Delmar (15-0) hosts a second-round game on Saturday at 11 a.m. against the winner of the first-round matchup between Delaware Military and Mount Pleasant.
The eight-team Division I tournament begins with four first-round games on Thursday.
No. 8 Sussex Tech (9-5-1) faces top-seeded Padua at Caravel at 6:30 p.m., No. 4 Dover (9-4-2) hosts No. 5 Concord (9-4-2) at 3 p.m., No. 2 Cape Henlopen (13-2) hosts No. 7 St. Georges (9-5-1) at 6 p.m. and No. 3 Polytech (10-5) hosts No. 6 Appoquinimink (10-5) at 2:30 p.m.
