Smyrna-Sussex Tech football game pushed back a day

SMYRNA – Smyrna High’s football showdown with Sussex Tech has been rescheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m.

The Henlopen Conference Northern Division matchup, being played at Smyrna, was originally slated for Friday night but was moved because Smyrna is playing Howard tonight. The Howard contest was postponed last Friday because of a thunderstorm.

Dover, which hosts Polytech tonight, is in the same situation. But its next game, at Cape Henlopen on Friday, has not been moved as of yet.

Two Henlopen games last week were rescheduled to avoid making teams play twice in a span of five days.

Smyrna is 1-0 in the North, 3-1 overall going into Saturday’s game while defending North champion Sussex Tech is 2-0, 5-0.
