Softball, tennis state tourneys both postponed

Rainy weather has again caused a disruption in the DIAA state tournament schedule.

Both the softball as well as the boys’ and girls’ state tourneys have been moved back one day because of the rain.

In the softball quarterfinal games involving downstate teams on Wednesday, Lake Forest is at Smyrna (4 p.m.), Delmar is at Appoquinimink (4 p.m.) and Sussex Central is at Caravel (5 p.m.).

In the tennis tournament, where two rounds were played on Monday, the event will pick back up with the quarterfinals on Wednesday afternoon at various sites.

The state track & field meet and the boys’ lacrosse tourney are still being played as scheduled.
