Week 6 Pigskin Picks

As we reach the start of the second half of the high school football season, all seven games involving Henlopen Conference teams this weekend are divisional games.

That means there’s a lot riding on the outcome. Here’s our picks for the local high school and college games.

High school

Smyrna (2-0, 3-2) at Dover (1-1, 2-3)

Dover is trying to get back in North race while Smyrna can take a big step toward title.

Milford (1-2, 3-2) at Caesar Rodney (1-1, 1-4)
After upsetting Dover, Buccaneers have a chance to spoil the Riders’ homecoming.

Cape Henlopen (1-1, 1-4) at Sussex Central (2-1, 4-1)
Sussex Central has won 14 straight regular-season home games since the ‘16 season.

Sussex Tech (1-1, 2-3) at Polytech (0-2, 1-4)
This year’s edition of the Tech Bowl is also the ‘19 homecoming game for the Panthers.

Delmar (0-0, 3-2) at Lake Forest (1-0, 5-0)
This is the first big game in the smaller-sized version of the Henlopen Southern Division.

Woodbridge (0-0, 5-0) at Seaford (0-1, 1-3)
Seaford will try to slow down a Blue Raiders’ squad that no one has been able to stop yet.

Saturday
Indian River (1-1, 1-4) at Laurel 0-0, 2-3), noon

After two straight victories, Laurel would love to reach .500 in its homecoming game.

College
Wesley (1-0, 4-0) at Salisbury (1-0, 3-0), 1 p.m.

The Wolverines have had a lot of success against the Sea Gulls but it’s often not easy.
