With the Henlopen Conference football season down to just two games, there’s some big matchups on tap tonight.

Here’s our predictions for this weekend’s local high school and college football games:

Cape Henlopen (2-3, 2-6) at Smyrna (5-0, 6-2)

With North title already in their grasp, Eagles are playing for state tourney seeding now.

Sussex Central (5-1, 7-1) at Dover (3-2, 4-4)
Dover has lost 7 straight to Central but probably needs a win to make state tournament.

Caesar Rodney (3-2, 3-5) at Sussex Tech (2-3, 3-5)
Only the winner of this game will still have a chance at finishing with a .500 record.

Lake Forest (3-1, 7-1) at Woodbridge (3-0, 8-0)
The Spartans take their shot at the Henlopen South title against the unbeaten Raiders.

Seaford (1-6) at Red Lion Christian (5-3), 7:15 p.m.
Jays have won two in a row over Red Lion but but will have a tough time making it three.

Delmar (3-0, 6-2) at Laurel (1-2, 3-5), 7:30 p.m.
Delmar wants to stay on track for its own Southern Division showdown with Woodbridge.

Saturday’s games
Indian River (1-7) vs. St. Elizabeth (2-6), at Caravel, 7:30 p.m.

One of the two struggling squads will be happy to add another victory to their record.

College
Wesley (3-1, 6-1) at College of New Jersey (2-2, 2-5), noon

Wolverines have been living on the edge and expect another NJAC battle from the Lions.

The Blue Hens’ fading playoff hopes would get a lift with a win over the No. 21 Tigers.

Delaware State (0-5, 1-7) at Florida A&M (5-0, 7-1), 4 p.m.
Someday DSU will win again on the road but it’s hard to imagine that today is that day.
